Faith

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
– Hebrews 11:1

“Faith is a confident expectation that God will do what He said he will do. Faith is accepting God’s statement as clear evidence of what we do not yet see (Heb.11:1). However, faith is not blind. Faith is based on what we know about God. Living by faith will affect every part of our lives, from our families, to our workplaces, to our involvement in church. Faith is a way of God (Heb. 11:6). God chooses to work in and through a person who believes Him, trusts Him, and obeys Him. David also expressed this kind of faith in Psalm 25 (2a, 4-5). He entrusted his soul in God, and declared, O my God, I trust you…Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I shall wait all the day.”
– Henry Blackaby

“Faith has to do with things that are not seen, and hope with things that are not in hand.”
– Saint Thomas Aquinas

“Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
– Martin Luther King Jr.
