Who am I? What is my Biblical Identity?

  1. I am the salt of the earth. Matthew 5:13 -You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how will be made salty (again)? It is good for nothing anymore, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.
  2. I am the light of the world. Matthew 5:14 -You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
  3. I am a child of God. John 1:12 – But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, (even) to those who believe in His name.
  4. I am part of the true vine, a channel of Christ’s life.John 15:1 -I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. (v. 5) I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing.
  5. I am Christ’s friend. John 15:15 -No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.
  6. I am chosen and appointed by Christ to bear His fruit. John 15:16 -You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and (that) your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask of the Father in My name, He may give to you.
  7. I have been justified-completely forgiven and made righteous. Romans 5:1- Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
  8. I died with Christ and died to the power of sin’s rule over my life. Romans 6:1-6 – What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace might increase? (v. 2). May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? (v.3) Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? (v.4) Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. (v.5) For if we have become united with (Him) in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall be also (in the likeness) of His resurrection, (v.6) knowing this, that our old self was crucified with (Him), that our body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin;
  9. I am a slave of righteousness. Romans 6:18 – and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
  10. I am enslaved to God. Romans 6:22 – But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.
  11. I am free forever from condemnation. Romans 8:1 – There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
  12. I am a son of God; God is spiritually my Father.Romans 8:14-15 – For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. (v.15) For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!
  13. I am a joint heir with Christ, sharing His inheritance with Him. Romans 8:17 And if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with (Him) in order that we may also be glorified with (Him).
  14. I have been placed into Christ by God’s doing. 1 Corinthians1:30. But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
  15. I have received the Spirit of God into my life that I might know the things freely given to me by God. 1 Corinthians 2:12 – Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things freely given to us by God.
  16. I have been given the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:6 – For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.
  17. I am a temple-a dwelling place of God. His Spirit and His life dwell in me. 1 Corinthians 3:16 – Do you not know that you are a temple of God, and (that) the Spirit of God dwells in you?; 1 Corinthians 6:19 – Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?
  18. I am united to the Lord and am one spirit with Him.1 Corinthians 6:17 – But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit (with Him).
  19. I have been bought with a price; I am not my own; I belong to God. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – Or do you not know that your body is temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? (v.20) For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
  20. I am a member of Christ’s body. 1 Corinthians 12:27 – Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it; Ephesians 5:30 – because we are members of His body.
  21. I have been established, anointed and sealed by God in Christ, and I have been given the Holy Spirit as a pledge guaranteeing my inheritance to come. 2 Corinthians 1:21 – Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, (v.22) who also sealed us and gave (us) the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge; Ephesians 1:13-14 – In Him, you also after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-having also believed, you were sealed in Him with Holy spirit of promise, (v.14) who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of (God’s own) possession, to the praise of His glory.
  22. Since I have died, I no longer live for myself, but for Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:14,15 – For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; (v.15) and He died for all, that they who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.
  23. I am a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5:17. Therefore if any man is in Christ, (he is) a new creature; the old things passed away; behold new things have come.
  24. I am reconciled to God and am a minister of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:18,19 – Now all (these) things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, (v.19) namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
  25. I have been made righteous. 2 Corinthians 5:21 – He made Him who knew no sin (to be) sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
  26. I have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I am now living is Christ’s life. Galatians 2:20 -I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the (life) which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.
  27. I am a son of God and one in Christ. Galatians 3:26-28 – For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. (v.27) For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. (v.28) There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
  28. I am an heir of God since I am a son of God.Galatians 4:6-7 – And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, ‘Abba! Father!’ (v.7) Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.
  29. I am a saint. Ephesians 1:1 – Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to the saints who are at Ephesus, and (who are) faithful in Christ Jesus; 1 Corinthians 1:2- to the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their (Lord) and ours; Philippians 1:1 – Paul and Timothy, bond-servants of Christ Jesus, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, including the overseers and deacons; Colossians 1:2 – to the saints and faithful brethren in Christ (who are) at Colossae; Grace to you and peace from God our Father.
  30. I have been blessed with every spiritual blessing.Ephesians 1:3 – Blessed (be) the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly (places) in Christ.
  31. I was chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and am without blame before Him. Ephesians 1:4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In loveā€¦
  32. I was predestined-determined by God to be adopted as God’s son. Ephesians 1:5 -He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will.
  33. I have been redeemed and forgiven, and I am a recipient of His lavish grace. Ephesians 1:7 – In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace,
  34. I have been made alive together Christ. Ephesians 2:4-5. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, (v.5) even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).
  35. I have been raised up and seated with Christ in Heaven. Ephesians 2:6 – and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly (places), in Christ Jesus,
  36. I am God’s workmanship, His handiwork, born anew in Christ to do His work. Ephesians 2:10 – For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
  37. I have direct access to God through the Spirit.Ephesians 2:18 – for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
  38. I am a fellow citizen with the rest of God’s family.Ephesians 2:19 – So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household,
  39. I am a prisoner of Christ. Ephesians 3:1 – For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles; Ephesians 4:1 – I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,
  40. I may approach God with boldness, freedom and confidence. Ephesians 3:12 – in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.
  41. I am righteous and holy. Ephesians 4:24 – and put on the new self, which in (the likeness of) God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
  42. I am a citizen of heaven, seated in heaven right now. Philippians 3:20. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; Ephesians 2:6 – and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly (places), in Christ Jesus,
  43. I have been rescued from the domain of Satan’s rule and transferred to the kingdom of Christ.Colossians 1:13 – For He delivered us from the domain of darkness , and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
  44. I have been redeemed and forgiven of all my sins. The debt against me has been cancelled.Colossians 1:14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Christ Himself is in me; Colossians 1:27- to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
  45. I am firmly rooted in Christ and am now being built in Him. Colossians 2:7 – having been firmly rooted (and now) being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, (and) overflowing with gratitude.
  46. I have been made complete in Christ. Colossians 2:10 – and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;
  47. I have been spiritually circumcised. My old unregenerated nature has been removed.Colossians 2:11 – and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;
  48. I have been buried, raised and made alive with Christ. Colossians 2:12, 13 – having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. (v.13) And when you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,
  49. I died with Christ and I have been raised up with Christ. My life is now hidden with Christ in God. Christ is now my life. Colossians 3:1-4 – If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. (v.2) Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. (v.3) For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (v.4) when Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
  50. I am chosen of God, holy and dearly loved.Colossians 3:12 – And so, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; I Thessalonians 1:4 – knowing , brethren beloved by God, (His) choice of you;
  51. I am son of light and not of darkness. I Thessalonians 5:5 – for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness;
  52. I have been given a spirit of power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7 – for God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
  53. I have been saved and set apart according to God’s doing. 2 Timothy 1:9 – who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity; Titus 3:5 – He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
  54. Because I am sanctified and am one with the Sanctifier, He is not ashamed to call me brother.Hebrews 2:11 – For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all one from one (Father); for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,
  55. I am a holy partaker of a heavenly calling. Hebrews 3:1 – Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession.
  56. I am a partaker of Christ; I share in His life.Hebrews 3:14 – for we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end; I have the right to come boldly before the throne of God to find mercy and grace in time of need; Hebrews 4:16 – Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need.
  57. I am one of God’s living stones, being built up in Christ as a spiritual house. I Peter 2:5 – you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
  58. I have been given exceedingly great and precious promises by God by which I am a partaker of God’s divine nature. 2 Peter 1:4 – For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, in order that by them you might become partakers of (the) divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.
  59. I am a member of a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession. I Peter 2:9-10 – But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for (God’s) own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; (v.10) for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
  60. I am an alien and stranger to this world in which I temporarily live. I Peter 2:11 – Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts, which wage war against the soul.
  61. I am an enemy of the devil. I Peter 5:8 – Be of sober (spirit), be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
  62. I am a child of God and I will resemble Christ when He returns. I John 3:1-2 See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and (such) we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. (v.2) Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that, when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is.
  63. I am born of God, and the evil one-the devil-cannot touch me. I John 5:18. We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him and evil one does not touch him.
  64. I am not the great “I AM” Exodus 3:14 – And God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM’; and He said ‘Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, I AM has sent me to you;’ John 8:24 – ‘I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am (He), you shall die in your sins;’ John 8:28 – Jesus therefore said, ‘When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am (He,) and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me’; John 8:38 – ‘I speak the things which I have seen with (My) Father; therefore you also do the things which you heard from (your) father.’ But by the grace of God, I am what I am; I Corinthians 15:10 – But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

God’s Special Promises to Me:

Jeremiah 29:11 – ‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.’

Jeremiah 33:3 – ‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

Psalm 37:1-7 – ({A Psalm} of David.) Do not fret because of evildoers, Be not envious toward wrongdoers. (v.2) For they will wither quickly like the grass, And fade like the green herb. (v.3) Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness (v.4) Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart. (v.5) Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will do it. (v.6) And He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your judgment as the noonday. (v.7) Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.

Psalm 84:11 – For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding. (v.6) In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Matthew 6:33 – But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.

Romans 8:28, 29 – And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to {His} purpose. (v.29) For whom He foreknew, He also predestined {to become} conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren;

Romans 8:37 – But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

I Corinthians10:13 – No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it.

Ephesians 1:19, 20 – and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. {These are} in accordance with the working of the strength of His might (v.20) which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly {places},

Ephesians 4:13 – until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.

3 John 2 – Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.

What does the Bible say about My Thought Life?
Deuteronomy 6:18,19 – And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the Lord, that it may be well with you and that you may go in and possess the good land which the Lord swore to {give} your fathers, (v.19) by driving out all your enemies from before you, as the Lord has spoken.

Psalm 139:23,24 – Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; (v.24) And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.

Proverbs 12:5 – The thoughts of the righteous are just {But} the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.

Proverbs 23:7 – For as he thinks within himself, so he is. He says to you, “Eat and drink!” But his heart is not with you.

Romans 8:5 – For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

Romans. 12:1, 2 – I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, {which is} your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 – For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, (v. 4) for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. (v. 5) We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

Ephesians 4:23 – and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

Colossians 3:2 – Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

Colossians 3:12 – And so, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;

Philippians 4:6-8 – Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. (v.7) And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (v.8) Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.

2 Timothy 1:7 – For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

Hebrews 12:1, 2 – Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, (v.2) fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 Peter 1:13 – Therefore, gird your minds for action, keep sober {in spirit,} fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
