Karen earned her BA in psychology from Denison University, an MA in psychology from Wake Forest University and Ph.D. in counseling psychology with an endorsement in School Psychology. Karen has worked in hospital settings assessing and treating children with developmental disabilities and psychiatric disorders. She has also worked in community mental health centers and has experience working with victims of domestic violence and clients with forensic issues.

Karen has had a private practice for twenty years specializing in assessing and treating children, adolescents, college students and adults with learning issues and life challenges. She has a particular interest in the transition from high school to college for the learning disabled student.

Dr. Karen is a licensed School Psychologist and also works with students with significant life challenges and academic struggles.  She has been involved in High School and College Sports for 20 years.  She has advanced training in assessing and treating concussions and integrating concussed individuals with return to study and return to play protocols.  She is married and has three adult children.
